CoIsland

CoIsland brings scheduled alerts from engineering, data, and work tools into the Mac’s notch. Engineers can review the signal there or hand its context to a coding agent while retaining control of alerts.

Who it's for

  • Engineers who monitor code, deployments, issues, and on-call tools and want their alerts together in the Mac notch.
  • Data teams using tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, or dbt who want scheduled checks surfaced as alerts.
  • AI engineers using Claude Code, Codex, or Cortex Code who want to pass a tool alert and its context into an agent workflow.

Not the right fit if…

  • People using Intel Macs: CoIsland requires Apple Silicon (M1 or later) and does not run on Intel Macs.

How it fits your workflow

Connect tools such as GitHub, Jira, Sentry, or Snowflake, then define a query, search, or filter in the tool’s own language and choose a checking schedule.

CoIsland surfaces matching signals in the Mac notch with their source, rows, and notes. You can review monitor history and decide when an alert is acknowledged or resolved.

From an alert, hand its facts, monitor query, kept rows, and activity to Claude Code, Codex, or Cortex Code in a terminal. The agent’s own service receives the handoff; the user retains control of alert closure.

Key features

35+ tool connectors
Connectors span code and deployments, issues and docs, errors and on-call, data, mail and calendars, plus HTTP/JSON, RSS/Atom, status pages, and shell commands.
Scheduled monitors
Ask a connected tool a question using its query, search, or filter language, and choose how often that monitor checks.
Notch-based alerts
See triggered alerts with their source, rows, and notes in the Mac notch. Alerts have new, acknowledged, and resolved states, and the user decides when they move between states.
Monitor history and alert tracking
Review each monitor’s history, how quickly alerts are handled, and which monitors produce noise.
AI agent handoff
Open Claude Code, Codex, or Cortex Code in a terminal from an alert. The handoff includes alert facts, the monitor query, kept rows, and activity.
Workspace context
Alerts identify where they come from, such as work, a side project, or coursework, so activity from multiple workspaces can be viewed together.

Works with

  • Code and deployment tools
  • Issues and documentation
  • Errors and on-call
  • Data tools
  • Mail and calendar
  • Other sources
  • AI coding agents

Limitations to know

  • Requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) running macOS 14 or later; it does not run on Intel Macs.
  • Each license key can be used on up to 2 Macs at a time.
  • The page describes the app as a native Mac app, not a browser tab.

Getting started

A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14 or later.

  1. Download the CoIsland Mac app.
  2. Connect your first tool.
  3. Create a monitor with a query, search, or filter and set its schedule.
  4. Review an alert in the notch or hand it to a supported AI agent.

Frequently asked questions

Which tools does CoIsland connect to?

The page says CoIsland has 35+ connectors, including data tools such as Snowflake and Databricks; code and deployment tools such as GitHub and Vercel; issue tools such as Jira, Linear, and Notion; on-call tools such as Sentry, PagerDuty, and Datadog; and mail and calendar tools.

Can I request a connector?

Yes. The page asks users to email [email protected] with the tool they use and what they would watch in it.

Can an AI agent act on an alert?

An alert can be handed to Claude Code, Codex, or Cortex Code in a terminal with the alert as its first message. The page says Claude Code and Codex run in auto mode, doing what is safe and asking about the rest, while Cortex Code asks before acting. An agent does not close an alert; the user does.

Does my data go through a CoIsland server?

The page says there is no CoIsland server and that the app talks directly to connected tools from the Mac. When an alert is handed to an agent, that agent’s own service receives it.

Where are connector credentials stored?

Connector tokens are kept in the macOS Keychain. Snowflake connections can be imported from ~/.snowflake, and the page says CoIsland never writes to those files.

How often does a monitor check?

Each monitor runs on its own schedule. The page gives examples such as every 30 seconds or every 5 minutes.

What Mac do I need?

CoIsland requires a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14 or later. It does not run on Intel Macs.

How much does it cost?

The listed early-bird price for one key is $5.99 until October 25, followed by a regular price of $19.99 paid once. A key covers up to 2 Macs, includes a year of updates, and has a 30-day refund option; packs of 2 and 5 keys are also listed.
