Korvo

Korvo is a private, local-first research and decision workspace that runs on your machine. It consolidates decks, PDFs, notes, transcripts, and other sources into a single project, indexes the content locally, and helps users plan, execute, and preserve evidence-backed analyses. Korvo emphasizes traceability โ€” every material claim links back to selected evidence in the workspace โ€” and provides a decision history and audit trail so others can inspect conclusions later. Users can connect cloud models with their own API keys, or run models entirely on-device via Ollama, and Medha provides on-device quality measurement of retrieval without sending private corpus content off the machine.

Korvo helps you turn messy context into structured plans, grounded outputs, and traceable decisions. Local-first. Private by default. Built for high-stakes knowledge work.

Key Features

Local-first workspace

Files, local SQLite index, notes, plans, and decision history reside strictly on the user's device; Korvo never holds workspace data on its servers.

Project capture and indexing

Drop in decks, PDFs, notes, and transcripts to create an indexed project library for search and retrieval.

Plan generation and approval

Korvo detects the goal, makes assumptions visible, flags missing context, and proposes analysis steps which the user reviews and approves before execution.

Grounded outputs with citations

Every material claim links back to the evidence selected from the project; generated briefs and syntheses include citations to source documents.

Two-model critique (beta)

Run two models where one builds the case and a second critiques it; revisions and unresolved questions remain visible for inspection.

Decision history and audit trail

Preserve conclusions, evidence, caveats, model details, timestamps, and open questions for later review or partner sign-off.

BYOK and local models

Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google via your own API key (prompts and selected context go directly to the provider) or use Ollama for fully on-device model operation.

Medha on-device evaluation

Medha measures retrieval quality (recall, MRR, nDCG) deterministically on-device without model calls or private corpus data leaving the machine.

Export and data rights

Export outputs to PDF and Markdown; delete local workspace data anytime โ€” Korvo does not claim rights over your files or generated outputs.

MCP / tool integration

Supports connecting MCP tools (Superhuman Mail preset or custom MCP server) and running discovered tools manually with JSON arguments.

Pricing

Free Tier Available

Explorer: free forever with limits (1 active project, 15 files, 20 notes, 1 table, plan generation, 1 saved output).

Explorer

$0 forever
  • 1 active project
  • 15 files or research papers
  • 20 notes ยท 1 table
  • Indexing and grounded chat

Pro

$149/year (renews at $149/year while active; planned public price $299/year)
  • Unlimited projects, files, notes, and tables
  • Two-model critique (beta)
  • Unlimited saved outputs
  • Export to PDF and Markdown

Use Cases

Venture diligence and investment decisions

Consolidate pitch decks, financial models, founder notes, and call transcripts into a single project, generate an analysis plan, and preserve an auditable decision record for partner review.

Founder board materials and strategy

Turn scattered strategy notes, customer evidence, and board material into a plan with explicit assumptions and supporting evidence.

Operator reporting and briefs

Synthesize reports and project context into actionable briefs while maintaining links back to the underlying evidence.

Research synthesis

Organize literature sets, compare claims, and produce cited syntheses grounded in source material.

Integrations

OpenAI / Anthropic / Google

Connect cloud models directly using your own API key; prompts and selected context go directly to the provider under your key and agreement.

Ollama

Run models fully on-device so no prompt or project context is sent to a cloud provider.

MCP tools (Superhuman Mail or custom MCP server)

Connect built-in Superhuman Mail preset or add a custom MCP server; inspect discovered tools and run them manually with JSON arguments.

Benefits

Strong privacy and control: workspace data and index remain on-device, and users can choose cloud or fully local models.
Traceable, auditable decisions: every claim is linkable to source material and decisions preserve evidence, caveats, and timestamps.
Designed for professional workflows: plan-approve-execute-preserve flow, two-model critique, and export options support collaborative review and compliance.

Limitations

macOS at launch: desktop app available for macOS at launch; other platform availability listed on the download page.
Two-model critique is beta and remains under evaluation with early-access rollout.
Cloud-model usage incurs separate API costs billed by the model provider; Korvo does not resell tokens.
Medha human-labelled release evaluation is still in progress; synthetic baselines are available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my own API keys?
Yes for cloud models. Add a key from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google and requests go directly from your device to that provider; API usage is billed separately by the provider you choose.
What actually leaves my machine?
Workspace files, notes, local SQLite index, plans, and decision history remain on your device and are never uploaded to Korvo servers. Cloud-model prompts and selected context go directly to your chosen provider under your own key and agreement. MCP tool arguments and required authentication go directly to the server you connected when you run an MCP tool.
What if I do not want to use a cloud model?
Connect a local model through Ollama so model requests stay on your machine and no prompt or project context is sent to a cloud provider.
Is my work locked in?
No. Your workspace is stored on your device and remains yours. Pro can export outputs to PDF and Markdown, and you can delete local workspace data at any time.
Can Korvo connect to MCP tools?
Yes. Connect the built-in Superhuman Mail preset or add a custom MCP server under Settings โ†’ Integrations โ†’ AI Tools; discovered tools can be inspected and run manually.

Getting Started

  1. 1 Download Korvo for macOS (Explorer is free) and sign in with Google to start.
  2. 2 Create a project and import files, notes, transcripts, and models (up to limits on Explorer).
  3. 3 If using cloud models, add your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google; or connect Ollama for fully local model execution.
  4. 4 Review and approve the automatically proposed plan, run analysis, inspect citations and model critiques, then export or preserve the decision history.
