The Last SaaS
The Last SaaS provides records, file storage, team access controls, notifications, and audit logs that AI assistants can operate through MCP, CLI, or API. Teams use it as a hosted or self-hosted backend for assistant-managed workflows.
One of 608 tools in AI Agents
Who it's for
- Developers building assistant-driven applications who need shared records and files as backend primitives.
- Teams using MCP-compatible assistants that want assistants to manage workspace data under user and role permissions.
- Organizations that want an open-source SaaS backend they can self-host and connect to agents or assistants.
How it fits your workflow
Create an account and organization, then connect an assistant or agent using MCP or the Last SaaS CLI. The page lists several assistant clients and provides a connection guide.
Ask the connected assistant to work with collections, files, members, permissions, notifications, or audit logs. The page's examples include searching and adding reading-list records, uploading files, inviting members, and scheduling reminders.
The service records changes in audit logs. Teams can use the hosted version or self-host the open-source product.
Pricing
Free: The hosted version is free. The product can also be self-hosted, but no self-hosting price is stated.

Key features
- Structured records
- Create collections with text, number, date, and other field types. Records are checked against collection definitions when saved, and assistants can change fields, filter and sort records, and calculate counts, totals, or averages.
- File storage
- Upload and download files in a workspace, organize them by path, and list or retrieve them through an assistant. File metadata includes name, type, size, upload date, and the account that uploaded the file.
- Accounts and team membership
- Invite teammates by email as members or administrators, view the member list, change roles, cancel pending invitations, and remove access. Each person can connect an assistant that acts through their account.
- Permissions
- Assign access rules to individual users or roles, including read, write, delete, or manage permissions for collections. Rules can also restrict which records and fields people or assistants can read or change.
- Notifications
- Send email notifications immediately, at a specific time, or on a recurring schedule. Users can choose delivery preferences, keep a notification in the workspace, mark messages as read, and cancel scheduled notifications.
- Audit logs
- Review record edits, file uploads, membership changes, and permission updates. Entries include the action, responsible account, and timestamp, and can be filtered by action or resource type.
