Opposable
Opposable lets developers connect AI agents to real or cloud Android phones and operate apps through MCP or a REST API. It turns phone interactions such as reading messages, entering codes, and navigating apps into agent-driven tasks.
One of 615 tools in AI Agents
Who it's for
- Developers using Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or another MCP client who need agents to interact with apps on an Android phone.
- People automating phone routines who want to save completed tasks as recipes and replay them.
- Teams running agents across multiple phones or needing hosted Android devices for remote and scheduled tasks.
Not the right fit if…
- People whose required banking apps refuse to run on virtual phones: Opposable explicitly notes that some banking apps block cloud phones.
How it fits your workflow
Install and pair the Android app, then connect an agent through MCP or use the REST endpoint. The agent receives a screenshot and labelled screen elements, and can tap, swipe, type, open apps, and use system keys.
Run the phone locally over USB or the same Wi-Fi, or use a hosted relay for remote access. For a cloud phone, install apps and sign in through the browser viewer, then connect to its private MCP endpoint.
A task can return a result, be scheduled with webhooks, or be saved as a recipe for replay. Payment and purchase actions pause for an approval tap.
Pricing
Free: The Android phone app, MCP server, and REST API are free. The free plan supports USB or same-Wi-Fi connections, unlimited tasks and recipe replays, and common tasks that do not need a model.

Key features
- Phone control for AI agents
- Agents can read a screenshot and labelled screen elements, then tap, swipe, type, use system keys, open apps, and follow links.
- MCP and REST access
- Connect compatible agents through MCP or use a REST endpoint; the page also describes webhooks for scheduled jobs and external workflows.
- On-device agent and models
- The Android app includes a free built-in agent and on-device models. The page says common tasks can run without a model and that screen inference runs on the phone.
- Local and remote phone connections
- Connect over USB or the same Wi-Fi network, or use a hosted relay to reach a phone over mobile data or another Wi-Fi network.
- Recorded task recipes
- A task can be saved as a recipe and replayed without a model; Pro also includes recipe backup and sharing across up to three phones.
- Scheduled tasks and webhooks
- Pro supports scheduled tasks and webhooks while the user's laptop is closed.
Works with
- Claude Code
- Codex
- Cursor
- MCP clients
- REST API

- OpenAI-compatible endpoints
Limitations to know
- The Android app requires Android 11 or newer.
- iPhone support is in beta and requires a Mac; Windows or Linux use requires an Opposable Stick for the Bluetooth portion.
- Some banking apps refuse to run on virtual cloud phones; the page says this restriction does not apply to the user's own phone.
- Cloud Starter includes 60 active phone-hours per month, with additional time priced at $0.15 per hour.
- Cloud phone-hours are subject to fair use on the Always-on and Team plans.
- The page identifies automatic recipe repair, the shared team recipe library, and priority recipe repair as coming rather than currently available.
Getting started
claude mcp add --transport http phone https://<id>.p1.getopposable.com/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer <token>"

Frequently asked questions
How do I install Opposable on Android?
On Android 11 or newer, download and open the app, allow installation from the browser if prompted, enable Opposable under Settings › Accessibility, then tap Pair and enter the code at getopposable.com/connect.
Does Opposable work on iPhone?
Yes, in beta with a Mac. The Mac app pairs with the iPhone as a Bluetooth keyboard and pointer and receives the screen over cable or AirPlay. On Windows or Linux, the page says an Opposable Stick provides the Bluetooth part.
Which agents can drive Opposable?
The page says any client that speaks MCP can drive it, and names Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
Do I need a model API key?
No. Claude Code or Codex can use the subscription the user already pays for, and the app's built-in agent runs on the phone for free. The app can also use the user's own API key or a model on their network.
What is a cloud phone?
It is a virtual Android phone that runs for the user. Install apps and sign in through a browser viewer, then connect an agent to its private HTTPS endpoint.
Is it safe to let an agent operate my phone?
The page says anyone holding the token can operate the phone, so it should be treated like a password. The server listens on localhost unless network access is allowed, and payments wait for an approval tap.
