Ephemerals
Ephemerals provides disposable cloud development environments where each branch gets a dedicated remote machine with an agent preinstalled. Developers can run their chosen agent (currently Claude Code), review code, spin up stacks, and preview live apps via a secure preview URL for each port. Environments are organization-owned, sized per-branch (2–16 vCPU), isolated from inbound network access, and automatically deleted when the pull request merges, keeping secrets scoped to the ephemeral instance.
The product is aimed at developer teams and organizations who need parallel, reproducible, and secure development and review environments—enabling long-running builds, instantaneous previews, and team access without using local resources.
Ephemerals gives every branch its own disposable cloud machine with a bare-bones Claude Code running on it, signed in with your own subscription or API key. Run agents in parallel, keep working while your laptop sleeps, preview your app on a URL, and SSH in whenever you want to take over.

One machine per branch
Each branch gets a dedicated, non-shared instance (sized from 2 to 16 vCPU) so branches run in parallel without port conflicts or waiting.
Preinstalled coding agent (bring-your-own key)
A bare-bones Claude Code agent boots on the machine; you can paste your Claude token or save it as an organization secret. The agent communicates directly with Anthropic from your instance.
Zero inbound ports & secure access channels
Instances run with no inbound rules; terminals, previews and port forwards travel outwards over AWS Systems Manager channels. Passwords are refused; only public keys are accepted for SSH.
Browser terminal, SSH, and per-port preview URLs
Access environments via an in-browser workspace terminal, SSH, or a preview URL per port (WebSockets and hot reload are proxied so previews update live).
Ephemeral lifecycle
Machines are reaped when the pull request merges and secrets scoped to that environment are deleted, limiting blast radius and avoiding long-lived hosts.
Team-shared environments
Environments belong to the organization; colleagues can open already-running branches instead of starting duplicate machines, and commits are authored from the active session.
Metered compute and seat billing
Billing separates per-seat charges and per-machine compute metered by the second, with a published price table for machine sizes.
Detached agent sessions
Agents run in tmux sessions on the instance so work continues even if the browser disconnects; logs and build output persist across reconnects.
Pricing
30 minutes a day on one 2 vCPU machine (page text: "Free tier 30 minutes a day One 2 vCPU / 1 GB machine").

Use Cases
Feature development and PR previews
Start a branch and get a running environment with a preview URL so reviewers can interact with the live app rather than a screenshot; reviewers can attach to the same terminal and file tree.
Parallel development across many branches
One machine per branch enables multiple agents and builds to run concurrently without local resource contention or port collisions.
Long-running builds and background jobs
Start long builds or cron jobs on the instance and reconnect later—the agent runs detached so processes continue even if you close your laptop.
Secure, isolated testing
Run untrusted or stateful experiments on disposable machines that are destroyed when the PR merges, reducing risk to local workstations.
Bring-your-own LLM agent workflows
Use your existing Claude subscription or API key so the agent uses your plan and tokens directly from the instance.
Integrations
Claude / Anthropic
Bring your Claude subscription or API key; the agent talks to Anthropic directly from your instance.
GitHub
Sign in with GitHub and pick repositories to create environments for branches and PR workflows.
SSH & local port forwarding
SSH access with public keys only; you can forward environment ports to your localhost (ssh -L).
AWS Systems Manager & KMS
Access channels (terminals, previews, forwards) use AWS Systems Manager; secrets are sealed with a KMS data key and encrypted under an encryption context.

Getting Started
- 1 Sign in (Sign in with GitHub is offered) and pick the repositories you want to work on.
- 2 Start a free environment or launch a paid environment; paste your Claude token at launch or run /login in the terminal on the machine.
- 3 Optionally save a key as an organization secret so subsequent environments come up with it preconfigured, then open the workspace, attach via browser terminal or SSH, and use the preview URLs.
