Rushilo
Rushilo lets creators, marketers, and agencies direct video edits with Claude Code, Codex, or another MCP client, then review and undo changes on a desktop timeline. It also supports local Whisper captions and YouTube publishing.
One of 23 tools in Video Editing
Who it's for
- Creators editing footage who want to direct trims, captions, or transcript changes through Claude Code or Codex.
- Marketing teams producing campaign video variants or product demos on Mac or Windows.
- Agencies that want to edit client videos using their own AI accounts, without per-seat Rushilo AI fees.
Not the right fit if…
- Teams who need screen recording on Windows: Rushilo's screen-recording feature is Mac only.
How it fits your workflow
Install Rushilo on Mac or Windows and connect Claude Code, Codex, or another MCP client. Import media, select a clip, frame, or timeline section, and describe the change you want; the agent edits through Rushilo's tools while you watch.
Review the edits on the timeline, make changes yourself, or undo agent actions. For captions, run Whisper on the computer and edit the transcript before exporting.
Export the finished video or upload it to YouTube from the Export dialog. Projects and media stay on disk; AI provider usage is paid to the provider, not through Rushilo credits.

Key features
- Agent-directed timeline editing
- Connect Claude Code, Codex, or another supported MCP client, select a clip or timeline section, and describe an edit. The agent makes changes through Rushilo's tools, with changes shown on the timeline and available to undo.
- On-device captions and transcript editing
- Whisper transcribes audio on the user's computer after a one-time model download. Captions can be placed on the timeline, and users can edit the transcript to remove filler words or tighten pauses.
- Planning board
- Pin clips and notes and add an agent chat on a board, then have the agent use that material to build a cut on the timeline.
- Mac screen recording
- Record a screen, window, or selected area with a camera, microphone, and computer sound. Rushilo can zoom around clicks, smooth the cursor, frame the recording on a backdrop, and blur private details.
- YouTube publishing
- Upload an exported video to a YouTube channel from the Export dialog, with a title, description, tags, privacy setting, and optional scheduled release. The agent requires user approval before uploading.
- Bring-your-own AI accounts and keys
- Use supported AI subscriptions or provider keys for capabilities such as voice, images, and transcription. Provider usage is billed by the provider rather than through Rushilo credits.

Frequently asked questions
What is Rushilo?
Rushilo is a desktop video and image editor for Mac and Windows that can be driven by an AI agent. Users connect Claude Code, Codex, or another MCP client to edit on their computer.
Can Claude Code or Codex edit existing video footage?
Yes. The connected agent can trim and split clips, edit the transcript, add captions, and export video. Changes are visible on the timeline and can be undone.
Can Rushilo record my screen?
Yes, on Mac. It can record a screen, window, or area with a camera, microphone, and computer sound. Screen recording is Mac only.
Can Rushilo generate captions without a cloud API?
Yes. Whisper captions run on the computer after a one-time model download. Captions can be burned into the exported video, and subtitles can also be saved as SRT or VTT files.
Can Rushilo upload to YouTube?
Yes. After signing in with Google once, users can upload a finished video from the Export dialog and set its title, description, tags, privacy, and optional scheduled release. The upload goes from the computer directly to YouTube, and Rushilo asks before an agent uploads.
Is Rushilo available for Mac and Windows?
Yes. Rushilo is a desktop app for macOS and Windows. Screen recording is available only on Mac.
Is Rushilo a subscription?
No. The licence costs $99 once, with no renewals or Rushilo AI credits. Agent subscriptions and provider usage are paid separately.
Do my files or keys leave my computer?
Rushilo stores projects and media on the user's disk and API keys in the system keychain. Connected AI providers receive the inputs needed for requests; licence activation, on-device model downloads, and app updates also use the network.
How many computers can I use it on?
One licence covers up to three computers. A slot can be freed from the Devices page in the account.
Why does Windows show a warning when I install it?
The Windows installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn on first install. The page says to select More info, then Run anyway.
